Alicyclic compounds

at least 3 C- atoms in their molecules and resemble to aliphatic compounds in physical and chemical properties.

Aromatic Compounds

contain alternate double bond in their ring.

Homocyclic / Carbocyclic compound

Cyclic compounds which contain olny carbon atoms in their ring are homocyclic compounds

Straight chain

Non - Benzenoid compound

Not containing benzene ring instead containing highly saturated ring.

Open chain

Alicyclic/ Aliphatic compounds

Organic compounds containing open chain of C-atoms.

Classification of organic compounds

There are two major classes.
